Farmers to Receive MSP Payments Within 48 Hours in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has streamlined the paddy procurement process during the ongoing kharif season to ensure that registered farmers receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) directly in their bank accounts within 48 hours of selling their produce at mandis.

To facilitate this initiative, officials have been deployed at multiple levels to oversee the seamless transfer of payments and safeguard farmers’ interests. These officials work round the clock, ensuring prompt action in case of any grievances. Civil supply officials are prioritizing farmers’ concerns and diligently addressing any payment-related issues.

The government has adopted meticulous procedures to map and verify farmers’ accounts before initiating payments. The Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare (FS&CW) Department has implemented an entirely digital payment system for MSP disbursal, eliminating delays and ensuring transparency.

The Odisha government has consistently introduced measures to uplift the farming community. This latest step underscores its dedication to safeguarding farmers’ rights and promoting their economic well-being.

Farmers across the state have expressed appreciation for the promptness and efficiency of the new system, which reflects the administration’s proactive approach to ensuring the welfare of one of the state’s most critical sectors.
