Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah commenced the election campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in Odisha’s Sonepur, rallying party leaders and workers in a fervent call for change.
Arriving at the rally venue in Sonepur around 4 pm via a special chopper from Jharsuguda airport, Shah ignited spirits with a passionate address to a massive gathering under the Bolangir Parliamentary Constituency.
In his speech, Shah championed the concept of a ‘double engine government’ in Odisha, emphasizing the need to empower BJP for accelerated progress in the state. Despite its abundance of mineral resources, Shah lamented Odisha’s lag in development under the current Biju Janata Dal (BJD)-led government.
“I appeal to the people of Odisha to send 20 MPs to Lok Sabha and bless the BJP to form a government in Odisha for the overall development of the state,” Shah urged, rallying support for the party’s electoral aspirations.
Asserting the nationwide ‘Modi wave’, Shah highlighted the resonance of BJP’s vision across India, including Odisha, where citizens are eager for transformative governance.
