
New Delhi: Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Arora took over the prestigious role of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance (AOM) of the Indian Air Force at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) today. In his first official act, Air Marshal Arora honored fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial, paying tribute to the courageous personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Commissioned into the Aeronautical Engineering stream of the Indian Air Force in August 1986, Air Marshal Arora brings an impressive background in technical and operational expertise. A graduate of the Air Force Technical College, he has also trained at the Air Command and Staff College in the USA and the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. With an engineering background in electronics and communications, he holds an esteemed doctorate in management from the University of Pune and is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur.
Air Marshal Arora’s career of 38 years includes several prominent command and staff roles, most recently serving as Director General (Aircraft). Recognized for his service, he was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2018 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024, underlining his commitment to excellence and dedication to the Air Force.
