
Actor Sabyasachi Mishra helped a poor woman with severe sickle cell anemia and jaundice, deliver quadruplets in the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack today.
A group of doctors from Gynecology, Hematology and Hepatology departments of the largest government hospital of the state took a multidisciplinary approach and followed a unique procedure to conduct the safe delivery of the new born babies. After the successful procedure, all the babies and the mother are safe and sound, informed the actor. All the babies are girls.
Sabyasachi, who has been helping poor people in availing medical treatments for last few years, said that he got to know about the woman belonging to Sarankul area in Bhanjanagar of Ganjam district few days back. She was extremely poor and suffering from multiple diseases. She was also pregnant with four babies inside her womb.
“After I heard about the case, I immediately took steps and arranged an ambulance to take her to the hospital. The group of doctors tried their best and saved the mother and the babies. It gives me immense pleasure since I helped four girls taking birth safely and I became an uncle to them ,” said the ever-smiling actor.
