Accenture Inaugurates Advanced Technology Center in Bhubaneswar, Boosting Odisha’s IT Hub Status

Bhubaneswar: In a significant stride towards reinforcing Odisha’s position as a leading IT hub, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. Accenture, a global professional services company, has established this state-of-the-art facility, marking a pivotal moment in the rapidly evolving IT, strategy, and consulting ecosystem within the state.

Accenture, a global professional services company, is renowned for its workforce of over 743,000 individuals worldwide, including 300,000 in India, and its commitment to fostering equality, career development, and continuous learning.

Expressing enthusiasm about the inauguration, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stated, “The New Odisha is forging ahead towards progress, buoyed by innovation, new ideas, and a strong entrepreneurial ethos. Accenture’s expertise in these areas will undoubtedly add immense value to our endeavors. Opening Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center marks yet another watershed moment, signifying the fast-changing IT, strategy, and consulting ecosystem within the State.”

Highlighting Bhubaneswar’s global prominence in IT, ESDM, and consulting, Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services & Home, emphasized the city’s position as a leader in shaping the future of technology. He added, “Accenture’s new Technology centre will create more opportunities for the youths in the State.”

Dr. Bhaskar Ghosh, Chief Strategy Officer at Accenture, expressed excitement about commencing operations in Odisha, acknowledging the state’s rich pool of skilled talent and enabling policies. He mentioned, “Our newest Advanced Technology Center in Bhubaneswar will build transformative solutions for our clients using the cloud, data, and AI, including generative AI, reiterating our commitment to expand our presence across more locations in India.”

Spread over 50,000 sq. ft at the Odisha Technology Centre, Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center is designed to accommodate 2000 professionals in a hybrid work environment with potential for future expansion.

Manoj Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary, E&IT Department, Government of Odisha, emphasized that Accenture’s presence reinforces Odisha’s position as a leading destination for investment in the IT sector. He said, “Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center in Bhubaneswar not only signifies their confidence in our state’s potential but also bolsters the State’s IT ecosystem, enhancing its vibrancy and competitiveness across the country.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kartik Pandian, Chairman 5T Initiatives & Nabin Odisha, Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State, Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services & Home, Manoj Mishra, Principal Secretary, Electronics & IT Department, Manas Panda, Special Secretary, Electronics & IT, Ajay Vij, Country Managing Director, Accenture in India, and Mahesh Zurale, Global Lead – Advanced Technology Centers Global Network and Lead – Advanced Technology Centers, India, among other officials.

Accenture’s commitment to corporate citizenship initiatives aligns with the state’s focus on skilling and equity, including programs like Skills to Succeed, aimed at enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
