
New Delhi: The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. This visit marks a significant moment in the enduring relationship between India and the UAE.
President Murmu expressed her pleasure in welcoming the third generation of UAE leadership to Rashtrapati Bhavan, continuing a long tradition of high-level engagement between the two nations. She highlighted that the bilateral relationship has evolved significantly over the past decade, driven by the visionary leadership of both countries. The visit has resulted in the expansion of this partnership through several new agreements, reinforcing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE.
The President emphasized the strong people-to-people ties that underpin the relationship, noting that over 3.5 million Indian citizens reside in the UAE. She praised the UAE leadership for their efforts in ensuring the welfare of these citizens, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both leaders agreed on the shared values of peace, tolerance, and harmony, drawing inspiration from the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Sheikh Zayed. They acknowledged the importance of these values in shaping the national character of both countries.
President Murmu also highlighted the impressive participation and contribution of women in Emirati society, noting that both India and the UAE have demonstrated that women-led development is crucial for achieving effective socio-economic progress.
