CM Patnaik Unveils Housing Complexes for Slum Dwellers in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to address urban housing challenges, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated three housing complexes in Bhubaneswar, aimed at uplifting slum dwellers. These complexes, Keshari Residency in Satya Nagar, Buddha Vihar in Chandrasekharpur, and Barunei Enclave in Subudhipur, stand as pillars of progress under the Saharanchal Awas Yojana urban housing scheme.
Keshari Residency caters to the residents of Shantipalli, while Barunei Enclave serves the residents of Tarini Basti. A total of 840 well-constructed pucca houses have been allocated thus far, with plans to distribute around 7,000 more in the coming days. Of these, approximately 1,700 houses are already completed, and 560 units are ready for occupancy in Keshari Residency.
During the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Patnaik handed over the keys to 314 beneficiaries of Keshari Residency, and over 300 houses in Barunei Enclave were officially presented to the recipients.
Each pucca house comprises a bedroom, a hall, a kitchen, and sanitary facilities, providing residents with improved living conditions and a sense of security. This initiative is a crucial step in addressing urban housing challenges and enhancing the quality of life for the slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar.
