Bhubaneswar: The 36th Konark Mahotsav 2025 and the 15th International Sand Art Festival concluded on a grand note with the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, lending special significance to the closing celebrations of the State’s flagship cultural festival.
The concluding evening was also attended by the First Lady Jayashree Kambhampati, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Pravati Parida, and Rajasthan Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar, reaffirming the national stature of the event.
The final day witnessed a series of captivating cultural performances that highlighted Odisha’s rich classical and folk traditions. The Governor watched the performances with keen interest and later felicitated the artistes and performers for their outstanding contributions, appreciating their role in preserving and promoting India’s artistic legacy.
Organised by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation, the Konark Mahotsav once again transformed the Sun Temple precinct into a vibrant cultural arena, drawing artists, cultural enthusiasts and tourists from across the country and abroad.
Earlier in the day, the Governor visited the venue of the 15th International Sand Art Festival, where he interacted with sand artists from India and overseas. Acclaimed sand artist Padma Sudarshan Pattnaik was also present during the interaction. The Governor lauded the creativity and craftsmanship displayed by the artists, noting the festival’s growing global appeal.
