Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik requests PM to intervene to ensure continuation of education of medical students returned from Ukraine
Bhubaneswar: Raising concern about the education of Indian students pursuing medical education in Ukraine universities and had to return due to ongoing war, Odisha chief minister Neveen Patnaik has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene an ensure for the continuation of their education in Indian medical institutes.
In a letter to the Prime Minister Modi, he requested for urgent intervention with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the ministries concerned to enable and facilitate continuance of studies in the medical colleges in India from the stage from which their studies in Ukraine have been disrupted.
The Odisha Chief Minister also urged the Prime Minister to ensure that these students can pursue the medical education in India from the stage from which their studies in Ukraine have been disrupted due to the war.
“This is an unprecedented crisis that has the potential of disrupting the careers of several thousands of young men and women who have already gone through the trauma of being in the war zone,” the letter read.
A large number of Indian students mostly pursuing medical education had to return back home after the war erupted between Ukraine and Russia.
