Bhubaneswar: The All India DGP/IGP Conference 2024, held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, saw Union Home Minister Amit Shah bestow the prestigious honor of the second-best police station in India upon Pattapur Police Station in Ganjam district, Odisha.
State Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania attended the conference and expressed immense pride in this achievement for the Odisha Police. Speaking on the occasion, DGP Khurania highlighted the infrastructure developments and reforms implemented at the police station under his leadership, which contributed significantly to the accolade. He congratulated the officers and staff of Pattapur Police Station, district police, and Ganjam SP Suvendu Kumar Patra for their dedication and hard work.
The Union Home Ministry annually evaluates police stations nationwide for the Best Police Station Awards. Criteria include crime management, investigation quality, case resolution efficiency, and delivery of public services.
Pattapur Police Station’s outstanding performance across all these parameters secured its position as the second-best police station in the country. Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Sabyasachi Malla accepted the award and citation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on behalf of the station.
