Bhubaneswar: As Cyclone “DANA” approaches the coast, with its impact expected to be felt on October 24th and 25th at Paradip Port, the Paradip Port Authority has implemented a series of precautionary steps to ensure safety and minimize potential disruptions. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings about the impending cyclone, prompting swift and decisive action from port authorities to protect assets, personnel, and surrounding communities.
In response to the severe weather conditions expected with Cyclone “DANA,” the Paradip Port Authority has accelerated all ongoing operations. Directives have been issued to expedite cargo transportation and ensure that all loading activities from the ships currently berthed at the port are completed before the cyclone’s arrival. This measure aims to minimize the risk of damage to cargo and equipment. Additionally, ships at the port have been instructed to move to designated safe anchorages at sea to avoid potential accidents caused by turbulent waters.
Ensuring the safety and welfare of port workers and nearby communities remains a top priority. The Paradip Port Authority has arranged essential supplies, including medicines, drinking water, and food, to meet emergency needs during and after the cyclone’s impact.
