Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 10 percent reservation for Agniveers from Odisha who are not absorbed into the defense services. This announcement was made today at Lokseva Bhawan before the Chief Minister departed for Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting.
“Our soldiers are our pride,” Chief Minister Majhi stated, emphasizing the state’s commitment to the Agniveers. “The Agniveers, trained by our defense forces, are highly qualified to serve the nation in various security-related sectors.”
The Chief Minister hailed the Agniveer Scheme as a historic initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the scheme for empowering youth, making them capable and fearless to face various challenges in life.
In recognition of their training and capabilities, the Odisha Government has decided to recruit Agniveers into the state’s uniformed services. The Chief Minister announced that the state government would provide up to 10 percent reservation in its uniformed services for Agniveers from Odisha who are not absorbed into the defense forces. Additionally, these individuals will receive a five-year age relaxation.
