Puri: In a bid to streamline the rituals and darshan procedures during the upcoming Snana Purnima and Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan conducted a review meeting on Monday in Puri.
The meeting was attended by key officials including the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Vir Vikram Yadav, Puri Collector Sidharth Shankar Swain, Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra, as well as members of the temple managing committee and servitors.
Following the review session, Law Minister Harichandan addressed the media, emphasizing the significance of enhancing the darshan system and ensuring the smooth conduct of rituals for Mahaprabhu Jagannath post-Rath Yatra.
“This year, as per the Srimandir almanac, the ‘Anasar’ period of the Holy Trinity has been reduced to 13 days, compared to the usual fifteen days,” Harichandan noted. This change necessitates careful planning and adjustments to the ritual schedule.
The minister revealed that a comprehensive blueprint has been prepared to ensure the successful execution of Snana Purnima and Rath Yatra events. He further mentioned that the Chief Minister has conducted a high-level review of these preparations.
To finalize the arrangements, a high-level meeting is scheduled for June 19, ensuring all necessary measures are in place for the devotees and the sacred rituals.
