Lockie Ferguson Makes History with Record-breaking T20 Bowling Spell

Wellington: New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson etched his name in cricketing history with a breathtaking display during the T20 World Cup, achieving a remarkable feat that set a new benchmark in the sport.

In an astonishing four-over spell against Papua New Guinea, Lockie Ferguson achieved an unprecedented milestone by taking three wickets without conceding a single run. This extraordinary performance not only earned him accolades but also secured a new world record in the T20 format.

Ferguson’s feat is particularly notable as he became the first bowler in Men’s T20 World Cup history to bowl four maidens in a single match. His impeccable accuracy and skill on the field propelled him into a league of his own, surpassing previous records and setting a new standard for bowling excellence in T20 cricket.

Prior to Ferguson’s exceptional performance, only one other men’s bowler, Canada’s Saad Bin Zafar, had bowled a full set of four overs without conceding a run, achieved during an international match against Panama in 2021. Ferguson now stands as the second player in history to achieve this feat and the first ever to do so at a T20 World Cup event.
