“Parivartan Chintan II” Charts Course for Jointness and Integration of Indian Armed Forces
New Delhi: The two-day “Parivartan Chintan II” concluded in New Delhi, marking a pivotal juncture in India’s defense landscape. Chaired by Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, the event brought together officers from the three Services Headquarters, Department of Military Affairs, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, and members of various sub-committees of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) on May 9-10, 2024. The primary focus of the gathering was to propel the ongoing process of Theaterisation, ensuring seamless integration and jointness among the armed forces.
During the conference, various COSC Sub-Committees provided updates on the progress of initiatives crucial for Jointness and Integration. Deliberations were lively, with a spotlight on vital reforms necessary to actualize the envisioned goals of achieving a “Joint & Integrated” end state, pivotal for the transformation of India’s defense architecture.
General Anil Chauhan, in his capacity as the Chief of Defence Staff, spearheaded the deliberations on both days. He underscored the urgency of expediting the initiatives, emphasizing their role in laying the groundwork for Theaterisation and the subsequent creation of a Multi Domain Response capable Indian Armed Forces.
The CDS’s vision for a theaterized force capable of executing Multi-Domain Operations resonated throughout the discussions. He expressed confidence that the collaborative brainstorming sessions would propel the evolution of the Armed Forces, equipping them to effectively navigate modern challenges and safeguard India’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
