Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, marked the occasion of the World Ordained Language Conference by unveiling a significant literary contribution – a book titled “Language Law in Legislative Assembly.” Launched on Sunday, the book meticulously chronicles the discussions surrounding the proposed language law from 1948, its passage in 1954, and the subsequent amendment by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in 2018.
During the unveiling ceremony, Chief Minister Patnaik expressed his unwavering commitment to the enhancement of the Odia language. He highlighted ongoing governmental efforts aimed at creating new avenues in linguistic development, ensuring the preservation of Odia, and applying scientific knowledge for the benefit of future generations. The book, a testament to the evolution of language legislation, is edited by Shalve Mahratha, the visionary founder of the Bhashak Movement. Shadsparsh Publishing House has played a pivotal role in bringing this insightful work to the public.
