Successful Stakeholders Meeting on Molecular Testing Laboratories Optimization in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha, in collaboration with USAID and RISE, conducted a highly successful workshop on optimizing molecular testing laboratories. The workshop, convened at Sandy’s Tower in Bhubaneswar on January 31, 2024, garnered praise from partner agencies, highlighting the importance of the initiative.
The stakeholders meeting aimed at enhancing the efficiency of molecular testing laboratories, crucial in the context of health and disease surveillance. Special recognition was extended to the district microbiologists for their commendable contributions in advancing the objectives of the workshop.
Representatives from esteemed institutions like ILS (Institute of Life Sciences), RMRC (Regional Medical Research Centre), and SCB MCH (SCB Medical College and Hospital) actively participated in the workshop. The discussions revolved around laboratory surveillance strengthening, specifically tailored for outbreak responses. The initiatives in this regard have been set in motion by the Department of Public Health (DPH).
