5T Chairman Assess projects in Kalahandi and Sambalpur Districts

Bhubaneswar: VK Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, undertook a visit to Kalahandi and Sambalpur Districts to assess the advancement of various developmental projects. Pandian’s itinerary included participation in the Nua-O Program at Manikeswari University Ground and engaging with students from all colleges in Kalahandi.

During his interaction with students, Pandian emphasized the significance of the Nua-O program, which serves as a platform for youth to showcase their talents and foster overall personality development alongside academic accomplishments. Drawing inspiration from notable personalities hailing from the district, Pandian encouraged students to work diligently with self-confidence to attain success in life.

In Kalahandi, Pandian conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing projects, including the construction of a 650-bedded Teaching Hospital, a 100-bedded New Hospital Building at DHH, and a Cancer Care Centre at Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College & Hospital, Bhawanipatna. With a total budget of Rs. 275 Crores, Pandian directed officials to expedite the remaining tasks following the principles of 5T.

Additionally, Pandian assessed the progress of major temple projects in the district, covering Maa Lankeshwari Temple, Belkhandi Temple, Manikeswari Temple, Jagannath Temple in Th Rampur, Maa Bhandagharani Temple in Dharamgarh, and Budharaja Temple in Ampani. These initiatives, totaling Rs. 8.75 Crores, were initiated based on grievances received during Pandian’s visit to Kalahandi in May 2023.

Highlighting infrastructure development, Pandian announced the sanctioning of eight 120-seated ST Boys and Girls Hostels for various higher secondary schools and degree colleges in Kalahandi District, amounting to Rs. 24 Crores, with ongoing construction.

In Sambalpur, Pandian reviewed critical projects, including the Improvement and Restoration of Sason Main Canal, Development of Maa Ghanteswari Temple at Chiplima, the Historical Leaning Temple of Huma, and Tourism Infrastructure Development at Veer Surendra Sai Smrutipitha, Khinda, totaling Rs. 86 Crores.

Many of these significant initiatives were launched following Pandian’s previous visits to Kalahandi District in May 2023 and Sambalpur in July 2023, where he actively participated in grievance meetings and sought feedback from the public.

Throughout the day, Pandian engaged with the public at Shree Krishna Nagar Ground in Bhawanipatna, Bareipali Field in Sambalpur, and Kilasama Stadium in Rengali, addressing various grievances and assuring prompt resolutions.
