Zubeen Garg Passes Away in Singapore Following Tragic Scuba Diving Accident

Singapore/Guwahati: Legendary Assamese singer and music icon Zubeen Garg has tragically passed away at the age of 52 after a scuba diving accident in Singapore, according to reports. The sudden demise of the versatile artist has left fans across India, particularly in Assam and the Northeast, in deep shock and mourning.

Widely celebrated as the “voice of Assam,” Zubeen rose to national fame with the chartbuster “Ya Ali” from the Bollywood film Gangster (2006). His career spanned over three decades, during which he recorded thousands of songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, and several other languages.

Apart from singing, Zubeen was also an accomplished music composer, actor, director, and philanthropist. He played a pivotal role in popularizing Assamese music and culture on the national stage, becoming a household name not only in the Northeast but across India.

Political leaders, fellow artists, and fans have expressed their grief over his untimely passing. Assam Chief Minister and several cultural organizations have announced plans for official tributes to honor the singer’s immense contribution to music and society.

Zubeen is survived by his wife Garima Saikia Garg. His death marks the end of an era in the Indian music industry, but his songs and legacy will continue to inspire generations.
