Zimbabwe to Host India for Five-Match T20I Series in July

New Delhi: Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) jointly announced on Tuesday the upcoming five-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and India scheduled for July. The series is set to unfold at the Harare Sport Club in Harare, taking place from July 6 to July 14.

The confirmation of this cricketing tour follows fruitful discussions between ZC and BCCI, with the primary objective being the consolidation of bilateral ties and the promotion of collaborative efforts between the two cricket boards, as stated in the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) statement.

Expressing his enthusiasm, ZC Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting India for a T20I series in July in what will be our biggest international attraction at home this year. The game of cricket has always immensely benefited from India’s influence and dedication to the sport, and I would like to say a huge thank you to the BCCI for committing to tour Zimbabwe once again.”

Mukuhlani emphasized the significance of this tour, especially during Zimbabwe’s efforts to re-establish themselves as a formidable force in international cricket.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah affirmed the board’s commitment to supporting fellow cricket boards, acknowledging the period of rebuilding for Zimbabwe Cricket. Shah stated, “Our steadfast commitment to touring and supporting fellow member boards aligns with our principle of bringing about a positive transformation within the cricketing landscape.”
