Young Talents Shine at State-Level Instrumental Music Competition 2025 in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The rhythmic beats and melodies of young musicians filled the air at the State-Level Instrumental Music Competition 2025, held this forenoon at Government Girls’ High School, Unit-6, Bhubaneswar. The event brought together 332 students and 24 accompanying teachers representing six zones across Odisha, showcasing the rich musical talent of the state’s youth.

Niyati Pattnayak, Director, DHSE, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, addressing students on the importance of organizing such band competitions to promote cultural and artistic growth. She applauded the participants’ enthusiasm and talent, urging them to continue pursuing excellence in the field of music.

Birendra Karkara, Director, Directorate of Secondary Education, attended as Chief Speaker and extended his best wishes to the teams for their spirited performances. The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Sujatabala Das, Headmistress of the host school, followed by a vote of thanks from Himansu Bhusan Samarth, Joint Director, OSEPA.

The valedictory ceremony, held in the afternoon, was presided over by Smita Raut, Director, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, who congratulated the winners and presented certificates and trophies to outstanding performers. She encouraged the students to continue honing their skills and aim for greater heights in music. Bhawani Prasad Mishra, State Nodal Officer, PM Poshan, also motivated the young participants with his inspiring words.

The day-long event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Santosh Kumar Raut, Joint Director, OSEPA, who coordinated the entire programme with support from Prachi Tanaya Giri, Joint Director; Pradosh Kumar Nayak and Tanmaya Kumar Behera, Deputy Directors; Jaya Banerjee, Training Associate; and Muralidhar Parida, Teacher.
