
New Delhi: Dr. Vivek Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), spearheaded a workshop on the ‘State of Artificial Intelligence in Banks’ as part of its lecture series, hosted in New Delhi today. The workshop aimed to provide banks and financial institutions with valuable insights into best practices for AI adoption and risk mitigation, with a presentation by NASSCOM.
The event brought together a multitude of industry experts who shared their experiences and insights on the application of AI in the banking sector. Alongside Dr. Joshi, senior officials from the DFS, CEOs, MDs, CTOs, and CDOs from 12 Public Sector Banks (PSBs), as well as MDs and CEOs from various financial institutions under the administrative control of DFS, and delegates from NASSCOM were in attendance.
The workshop provided a platform for participants to delve into various case studies and strategies for effectively implementing AI in the banking sector. By leveraging the expertise of industry leaders, the workshop aimed to deepen the understanding of AI technologies and their potential impact on the financial services industry.
Discussions during the workshop covered a wide array of topics, including the utilization of AI to enhance customer service, make informed decisions regarding credit, detect fraudulent activities and defaults, proactively manage risks, and enhance employee productivity and efficiency.
