
Bhubaneswar: The names of the artisans to receive State Handicraft Awards in different categories for the year 2020 and 2021 has been announced.
Padmabibhusan (Dr.) Sudarshan Sahoo, Benudhar Mohapatra and Debendra Mishra would be felicitated with the Life Time Achievement Awards for the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Udaya Mohanty (Stone Carving), Nirmal Chandra Das (Palm Leaf Engraving) and Purna ChandraMohapatra (Pattachitra) will be conferred with State Handicraft Awards for the year 2020.
Similarly, Babita Pradhan (Pattachitra), Pramoda Kumar Moharana (Palm Leaf Engraving), Pramoda Kumar Moharana (Stone Carving), Pravati Patra (Lacquer Craft), Amiya Podar (Coir Craft), Urbasi Moharana (Clay Toys) will be conferred with State
Handicraft Awards for the year 2021.
Prafulla Kumar Moharana (Wood Carving), Suresh Chandra Mohapatra (Applique), Nalinikanta Ojha (Wood Carving), Kuni Patra (Straw Craft) will be awarded with Kalakruti Award for the year 2020.
Similarly, Rasmita Sahoo (Pattachitra), Ananta Moharana (Stone Carving), Kanakalata Das (Lacquer Craft) & Sarojini Das (Cane & Bamboo) will be awarded with Kalakruti Award for the year 2021.
The Life Time Achievement Awardee will be felicitated with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakhs along with Manapatra. Similarly, Rs.1 lakh each with a certificate will be given to State Handicrafts Awardees and Rs.10,000 each will be given to Kalakruti Awardees.
The above awardees would be felicitated on February 1 during the inaugural ceremony of 17th Toshali National Crafts Mela.
