
Bhubaneswar: A five-day residential Hands-on Skill Development Training Programme for students of Government Vocational Higher Secondary Schools concluded today at the World Skill Centre (WSC) and Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC) in Bhubaneswar, marking another step towards strengthening vocational education and skill-based learning in Odisha.
At the valedictory ceremony held at the World Skill Centre, Niyati Patnaik, Director, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), attended as the Chief Guest. In her address, she encouraged students to embrace skill-based education and become industry-ready professionals. “Vocational education plays a crucial role in shaping the workforce of the future. Students must equip themselves with the latest technological skills to stay relevant and competitive,” she said.
The event also witnessed the presence of Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director, DHSE; Pinaki Pattnaik, COO, World Skill Centre; T. Thambyrajah, Chairman, CTTC; and Sasmita Sahu, Deputy Director, who interacted with the trainees and motivated them to pursue excellence in their chosen fields. Students shared their experiences from the training programme, which combined practical learning with industry exposure. Certificates were distributed to the participants during the ceremony.
Similarly, at the Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), the valedictory function was graced by Madhusudan Mallik, Deputy Director, who congratulated the students and presented certificates for successful completion of the programme.
In a related event held yesterday (October 31, 2025), the five-day Skill Development Training on SPEFL Trade concluded at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM). The valedictory ceremony featured Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Pattnaik, Vice-Chancellor, CUTM; Ajay Nayak, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Sasmita Mali, Joint Director, DHSE; and Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director, among others.
