‘Vande Mataram’ Painting Camp Concludes in Bhubaneswar, Celebrates 150 Years of National Song

Bhubaneswar: A three-day painting camp themed on “Vande Mataram” concluded at Shakuntala Gallery, bringing together artists from across Odisha to celebrate 150 years of the iconic national song through visual expression.

Organised by the Visual Art Department of Sanskar Bharati (Utkal Purva Prant) with support from the Department of Odia Language Literature and Culture, the camp saw participation from 35 artists who creatively interpreted the spirit and emotion of “Vande Mataram” on canvas.

Prominent artists including Priyadarshini Mohanty, Biswanath Barik, Rajesh Nayak, Rajkishore Nayak, Mamata Samantaray, Nirod Nalini Behera, Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, Santosh Maharana, Durga Madhab Kar, Lipishree Nayak, Shyam Sundar Tali, Bandana Panda, Namita Sahu and Tejaswini Samantsinghar were among those who contributed to the exhibition.

The concluding ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Chandrasekhar Hota, Binod Maharana, Niranjan Panda, and Nitai Charan Nanda, who spoke about the cultural and emotional significance of the national song and its enduring relevance.

The camp was coordinated by Sthitadhi Rath. The event concluded with a collective rendition of “Vande Mataram,” led by Pradeep Pande, with participation from artists and guests.
