Utkal Visual Art Foundation Showcases Young Talent at Kids’ Art Exhibition in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Visual Art Foundation successfully organised an art exhibition featuring works of young and budding artists at the Buddha Art Gallery of Odisha Lalit Kala Academy from December 21 to 25, drawing appreciation from visitors and art enthusiasts alike.

The exhibition was held as part of a children’s drawing competition, followed by a curated display of selected artworks. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Buddha Art Gallery near Buddha Jayanti Park in Niladri Vihar, maintained by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority, the event offered a vibrant platform for young creatives to showcase their imagination and skills.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Padma Shri awardee and renowned artist Vinod Maharana, while senior artist Dr Revati Kant Maharana graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The jury for the children’s drawing competition included senior artist Raj Kishore Maharana.

Winners of the competition were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the eminent guests. Addressing the young participants, the senior artists encouraged them to look beyond competitions and strive to create their own identities as artists and thinkers, emphasising that the value of meaningful art extends far beyond awards and recognition.

The exhibition was organised by artists Ashok Patnaik, Madhumita Patnaik, Archana Satpathy and Nirupama Sahu, with enthusiastic participation from students and guardians of the institution, contributing to the event’s success.

The Utkal Visual Art Foundation Trust runs an art learning academy with over 100 students, ranging from kindergarten to postgraduate level. Notably, the exhibition also witnessed active participation from hobby artists and women artists, adding diversity and vibrancy to the showcase.
