Faridabad: Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Earth Science, inaugurated the much-anticipated Young Scientist Conference on January 17, 2024, within the prestigious Indian International Science Festival held in Faridabad, Haryana.
In the presence of a distinguished audience comprising scientists, researchers, and budding talents, Shri Rijiju conveyed his belief that the future trajectory of India would be guided by the dynamic force of young scientists. The minister accentuated the critical role played by the Young Scientist Conference (YSC) in providing a robust platform for nurturing emerging researchers within the frontier sciences.
Shri Rijiju shared his vision, stating, “Over the next 25 years, India will witness the ascendancy of young scientists.” He emphasized the pivotal role of the YSC in creating an ecosystem that bridges the gap between science and the common populace. He asserted that the growth and quality of life in a nation are intricately linked to the development of a society that fosters scientific temper.
Drawing attention to the pressing global challenges, Shri Rijiju expressed confidence in the ability of Indian young scientists to address issues such as climate change and global warming. He envisioned these young minds leading the nation towards a sustainable future through their innovative solutions.
The Young Scientist Conference acts as a vibrant congregation, bringing together a diverse group of participants, including young postgraduates, research scholars, postdocs, academicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, all under the age of 45. Hailing from various backgrounds, including R&D laboratories, academic institutions, and industries, the conference’s primary goal is to facilitate the exchange of experiences, ideas, and discussions contributing to the scientific vision of the country.
The Science Media Communication Cell (SMCC) of CSIR-NIScPR took charge of coordinating the media publicity and visibility for the Young Scientist Conference across print, electronic, and social media platforms, ensuring widespread coverage and engagement.
