Mysuru: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a transformative set of 22 National Highway Projects in Mysuru, Karnataka, totaling 268 km and valued at over ₹4,000 Crore.
Among the key projects is the Huliyar-KB cross-Chunchanahalli-Nelligere road, strategically designed to enhance connectivity between Mysuru and North Karnataka. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to fostering regional development by improving transportation links.
The inauguration of the Mysuru Ring Road, complete with service roads and Railway Under Bridges (RUBs), is poised to bring significant relief to city dwellers by alleviating congestion and ensuring smooth traffic flow within the urban landscape.
One of the notable endeavors is the 4-lane expansion of Belur-Hassan and Yedegowdanahalli-Bilikere road sections. The accompanying installation of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) at Hangarahalli and Holenarasipur Bypass is anticipated to result in a substantial two-hour reduction in travel time, promoting efficiency in commuting.
A major bridge over Lakshmanathirtha River is strategically constructed to address congestion issues in Hunsur Town, aligning with the government’s commitment to streamlined urban planning. Furthermore, the development of Srinivasapura and Chintamani bypasses is specifically aimed at reducing congestion in these cities.
