Ahmedpur/Dharashiv: Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated six National Highway Projects worth Rs. 3,946 crore in Ahmedpur and three National Highway Projects worth Rs. 122.9 crore in Dharashiv, Maharashtra, today. The projects aim to enhance road infrastructure, ensuring smooth and safe travel for the people of the region.
Latur district, known for soybean production, plays a significant role in agricultural activities. The inaugurated projects include the 4-laning of the Ausa-Chakur section on National Highway 361 and the Chakur-Loha section, improving connectivity between Marathwada and Vidarbha, two crucial regions in Maharashtra. Additionally, the strengthening work of the Ashta mode to Ashta and Tivatgyal to Malkapur section on National Highway 63 has been completed, further contributing to traffic efficiency and safety in the area.
The projects will not only facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce to markets but also lead to time and fuel savings. Improved connectivity between regions will contribute to reducing pollution and enhancing accessibility to key religious sites such as Mahur Shaktipeeth, Nanded Gurdwara, and Tuljabhavani Temple of Tuljapur.
In a groundbreaking ceremony held through video conferencing, three national highway projects were initiated in Dharashiv district. These projects aim to enhance connectivity between Latur Road Junction and Sonegaon Junction, reducing traffic congestion in the city and facilitating the transportation of agricultural products. The initiatives are expected to save time and fuel, ensure safer travel, and decrease the number of accidents in the region. The overall impact of these projects aligns with the government’s commitment to developing robust road infrastructure across the country.
