Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Announces Approval for Jaunpur Bypass Construction

New Delhi:  In a recent announcement, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, shared that the government has given its nod for the construction of a 29 km long 4-lane Jaunpur Bypass (Package-1) in Uttar Pradesh. The project, estimated at a cost of Rs 1894.76 crore, is part of the Jaunpur-Akbarpur section of National Highway – 135A in the state.

The proposed Jaunpur Bypass is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion in the densely populated area of Jaunpur city. Additionally, the development of this Greenfield Bypass is set to enhance connectivity to National Highway 128 A, National Highway 731, and National Highway 31, all intersecting the project highway. The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure a seamless and secure flow of traffic, ultimately reducing travel time for road users. The project also encompasses the construction of a significant bridge over the river Ganga, contributing to improved regional connectivity.

Nitin Gadkari expressed optimism about the positive impact of the Jaunpur Bypass on the overall transportation network, emphasizing its role in enhancing connectivity and promoting efficient traffic management. The announcement aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade and expand the country’s infrastructure, particularly in the critical road transport sector.
