Union Minister Narayan Rane Initiates MSME-Technology Centre in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra

Sindhudurg: Narayan Rane, the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), marked a significant milestone today by laying the foundation stone of the MSME-Technology Centre in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. The inauguration of the Sindhudurg Audyogik Mahotsav and Self Employment Conclave accompanied the foundation stone ceremony. Distinguished guests, including Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, AS&DC (MSME), Dr. Rajneesh, and other senior officers of the Ministry, attended the event.

As part of the Government of India’s initiative, 20 new Technology Centres and 100 Extension Centres are set to be established across the country, enhancing technology access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The MSME-Technology Centre in Sindhudurg, with an estimated project cost of Rs 182 Crores, will focus on sectors such as General Engineering and Food Processing, creating new growth opportunities for nearby MSMEs.

During the event, Shri Rane highlighted India’s trajectory to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030. He emphasized the crucial role played by the Technology Centre in Sindhudurg, providing advanced training to youth across various fields. Shri Rane envisioned a robust push for growth and industrial development in the state, with a particular focus on food processing as a major industrial activity in the region.

Dr. Rajneesh, AS&DC (MSME), underscored the need for MSMEs to attain global competitiveness and world-class status, contributing to India’s transformation into a developed country by 2047. He emphasized the pivotal role played by Technology Centres spread across the country in facilitating this transformative journey.

The MSME-Technology Centre in Sindhudurg is expected to be a catalyst for skill development, innovation, and industrial advancement, aligning with the broader vision of fostering a technologically empowered and globally competitive MSME sector in India.
