Goa: Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, inaugurated Fly91, a regional airline, and flagged off its maiden flight between Manohar International Airport (MOPA), Goa, and Agatti Islands, Lakshadweep.

In his inaugural address, Scindia commended the transformative changes in the aviation industry under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Minister emphasized the multidimensional growth of civil aviation in India, showcasing the sector’s resilience and adaptability.

Scindia reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering connectivity in tier 2 and tier 3 cities through the UDAN scheme. He outlined the ambitious goal of increasing domestic air traffic to 30 crores by 2030, a significant surge from the 6 crores recorded in 2014.

Additionally, flights from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune will link to Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded, and Goa, gradually expanding connectivity.

These new routes aim to meet the growing demand for improved connectivity across the nation, fostering tourism, trade, and commerce.
