Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to Inaugurate 53rd Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop for Central Government Employees in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad:  Ensuring the well-being of Central Government employees transitioning into retirement, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), under the guidance of Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, is set to host the 53rd Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshop in Ahmedabad tomorrow.

The workshop aims to benefit Central Government employees posted across Gujarat and anticipating retirement within the next 12 months. Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Personnel, PG, and Pensions, has been a proponent of such initiatives, aligning with the government’s commitment to ‘Ease of Living’ for pensioners.

The Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshops have become a cornerstone of Good Governance, facilitating retiring officials in navigating the superannuation process. The upcoming workshop in Ahmedabad will equip retiring employees with vital information related to retirement benefits and the pension sanction process.

Various informative sessions on crucial topics like BHAVISHYA Portal, Integrated Pensioners Portal, Retirement Benefits, Family Pension, CGHS, Income Tax Rules, ANUBHAV, Digital Life Certificate, Investment Modes, and Opportunities will be conducted. These sessions are meticulously curated to enlighten retirees on the pre-retirement procedures and post-retirement benefits available to them.

A dedicated session on Investment Modes, including benefits and strategic planning, will guide retirees on making informed decisions about their retirement funds. Additionally, a comprehensive session on the CGHS system, CGHS portal, and the procedures to access CGHS benefits will be provided.

Participating in a bank exhibition for retirees, prominent pension disbursing banks such as SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda, and ICICI will showcase pension-related banking services. Retirees will receive guidance on opening pension accounts and effectively managing their pension corpus through various investment avenues.

It is anticipated that around 300 retirees, on the brink of retirement in the next 12 months, will derive substantial benefits from this Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare plans to continue organizing such workshops as part of its commitment to Good Governance, ensuring a seamless transition for Central Government retirees. These workshops serve to keep retirees informed about government initiatives and enable them to access the full spectrum of benefits available post-retirement.
