
New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved the establishment of the Bhima Bhoi Chair in the name of the legendary saint, poet, and philosopher from Odisha in Delhi University and Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
In its letter to the University of Delhi’s Registrar, University Grants Commission (UGC) Joint Secretary Jitendra K. Tripathi said, “I would like to draw your kind attention to the proposal submitted by the University of Delhi, Delhi for the establishment of Chair in the name of Bhima Bhoi Chair which was considered and approved by the Commission at its meeting held on March 10. It is to inform that the university may create the Chair by utilising the already available vacant positions.”
