Traffic Restrictions in Bhubaneswar for PM Modi’s Visit to Launch Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police have announced several traffic restrictions in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to launch the Mohan Majhi government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana at Janata Maidan.

The restrictions will be in place from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM on September 17, and will affect several key routes across the city.

According to a notification issued by the Commissionerate Police, the traffic restrictions are as follows:

  • No vehicles will be allowed to ply between Jayadev Vihar and NALCO Square, and from NALCO Square to Jayadev Vihar, including all connecting lanes and by-lanes.
  • Vehicles coming from Nandankanan to Jayadev Vihar will need to follow an alternate route via Damana Square – Guru Kelu Charan Park – Sainik School – Acharya Vihar or use the route via Sikharchandi – Pathargadia – DN School – Kalinga Studio Chhak – Fire Station.
  • Vehicles heading from Jayadev Vihar to Nandankanan must use the roads via Acharya Vihar – Sainik School – Guru Kelu Charan Park – Damana Square or take the Fire Station – DN School – Patharagadia – Sikharchandi route.
  • Vehicles arriving from Cuttack will be diverted to NH-316 toward Bhubaneswar or via the Nandankanan road.
  • Vehicles from Behera Sahi Chhak must take a diversion toward Acharya Vihar or CRPF Chhak and avoid Jayadev Vihar.
  • Service road access from Acharya Vihar Overbridge to Jayadev Vihar Square will be restricted for vehicles coming from Cuttack.
  • Similarly, vehicles coming from Baramunda will not be allowed to use the service road from Crown Hotel to Jayadev Vihar Square.

However, these restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles, including fire services and ambulances.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The Commissionerate Police have urged residents to cooperate with the arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Prime Minister’s visit.
