Traffic Advisory Issued for devotees visiting Puri for Suna Besha

Bhubaneswar, July 16, 2024: To ensure smooth traffic flow for devotees attending the Suna Besha festival in Puri, the Odisha Police has introduced a QR code system enabling commuters to avoid traffic jams using an AI-powered chatbot. This initiative aims to provide real-time updates and efficient routes, enhancing the overall experience for those witnessing the Holy Trinity adorn their golden attire.

“Stay out of traffic jams during Suna Besha 2024 by utilizing the AI-powered chatbot. Acquire real-time updates, avoid delays, and discover the most efficient routes. Sending a simple ‘Hi’ will enable you to navigate without any issues,” the Odisha police announced on X.

Traffic Mobility Plan for Suna Besha on 17th July 2024:

Inter-State Tourist Buses and Reserve Buses:

  • All inter-state and state tourist buses from Bhubaneswar will stop and park at Malatipatpur Bus Stand, returning via Satyabadi, Pipili, and Uttara.
  • Buses from Konark will park at Nagapatna Parking and return on the same route.
  • Buses from Brahmagiri will park at Flourish India near Mangalaghat Chowk and return on the same route.

Local Passenger Buses from Bhubaneswar:

  • Local buses, including MO Bus and OSRTC, will stop at Talabania Temporary Bus Stand via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar Chowk, Grid Station Chowk, and Bhudan Chowk.
  • Return route: Talabania Temporary Bus Stand, Central School Chowk, Bhudan Chowk, Grid Station Chowk, Balighat, Gopalpur, Samangara village, Biraharekrushnapur Bazar, and Batagaon to NH-316.

Regular Passenger Buses from Brahmagiri:

  • Buses will ply up to Talabania Parking Place via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar, Grid Station Chowk, and Bhudan Chowk, returning via the same route.

Regular Passenger Buses from Konark:

  • Buses will be diverted to Talabania Parking Place via Grid Station Crossing, returning on the same route.

Light Vehicles without Pass Holders:

  • Light vehicles on NH-316 will be diverted to parking places such as University Campus, ITI Parking, Helipad, Indoor Stadium, Fish Market near Talabania PS, and Horticulture Parking.
  • Vehicles from Konark will park at ITI and Helipad parking places, with first come first serve basis at Toshali Sands Crossing on Marine Drive Road.
  • Vehicles from Brahmagiri will park at Yatrika Parking Place, Nali field near Lighthouse Chowk.
  • In case of a heavy influx from Bhubaneswar, light vehicles will park at Samanga parking place, returning via the same route.

Light Vehicles with Pass Holders:

  • Vehicles with car passes on NH-316 will park at JBPC Parking Place, with overflow parking at Gadadhar High School, Lokanath Parking, Yatrika Parking, and Nali field parking.

Two-Wheelers:

  • From Bhubaneswar: Park at Old JBPC and Matitota parking places.
  • From Brahmagiri: Park at Old JBPC and Matitota parking places.
  • From Konark: Park at Blue Flag Beach parking, Hotel Nilachal Ashok parking, and behind Holiday Resort.

Shuttle Services:

  • Shuttle services (Auto Rickshaw) will run from Talabania to Ram Mandir Chowk, returning via Shreekhetra Colony and Mangala Temple.
  • Another shuttle service will run from Malatipatapur Bus Stand to Atharanala.
  • Designated shuttle buses will run to and from Subas Bose Chowk to Lighthouse Chowk.
