Bhubaneswar: Visitors onboard the newly launched toy train at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) had a narrow escape on Friday as it caught fire. Around 60 visitors were onboard when the mishap occurred.

As per reports, due to short circuit the engine of the electric toy train caught fire while in motion.

The visitors escaped unhurt as they alighted from the toy train as soon as they saw smoke emanating from the engine.

The Zoo authorities informed that the tory train would not run until repaired.

The toy train was relaunched after a gap of seven years on October 8 by Forest and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha.
