
Berhampur: In a moment of pride, Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has been honored with the esteemed ‘Best CSR Project of the Year’ award at the Indian Social Impact Awards 2024. The recognition comes in acknowledgment of the significant positive impact created by TPSODL through its Livelihood Enhancement Programme under Project ‘SAKSHAM,’ aimed at fostering employability and employment.
The award-winning initiative has successfully supported more than 300 Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs), empowering them with diverse income-generating activities such as millet cultivation, floriculture, poultry farming, and backyard farming. The project goes beyond mere financial assistance, providing essential training and support to women and their groups, contributing significantly to their livelihood enhancement.
TPSODL’s Vocational Training Centre in Aska has been instrumental in honing the skills of numerous youths. The center has facilitated the placement of hundreds of students in various organizations across India, particularly excelling in welding skills.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, stated, “We are honored to receive the Best CSR Project of the Year award. This recognition proves our commitment to creating a positive impact on livelihoods and empowering youth and women with valuable skills.
