
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Tapan Mohanty delivered a stellar performance to clinch the All-Around title in the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) category on Day 2 of the Junior and Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship 2026–27, reinforcing the host state’s growing dominance in the sport.
Mohanty secured the top position with an impressive score of 73.433, showcasing consistency and technical excellence across all apparatus. His victory marked a significant milestone for Odisha in the national gymnastics arena.
Close on his heels, Yogeshwar Singh of Haryana finished second with a score of 72.667, while Shayan Sharma claimed the third spot with 71.268, completing a highly competitive podium.
The event witnessed the presence of key sports administrators, including Sudhir Mital and Rajeev Mehta, who lauded the athletes and highlighted the importance of national championships in building future international contenders.
Adding to the host state’s success, Odisha also qualified for the Senior MAG Team Championship final, reflecting its strong overall performance in the competition.
