Sumit Antil Shatters Records, Retains Gold in Men’s Javelin Throw at Paris Paralympics 2024

Paris:  India’s Sumit Antil, the defending champion from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, once again etched his name in the history books by securing gold in the Men’s Javelin Throw F64 Final at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Antil not only retained his title but did so in spectacular fashion, breaking his own Paralympic record twice in the process.

The competition began with a stunning display of power and precision. Antil’s first throw reached an impressive 69.11 meters, surpassing his previous Paralympic record of 68.55 meters, set during his gold-winning performance in Tokyo. However, he was far from done.

In his second attempt, Antil outdid himself, launching the javelin to an astonishing 70.59 meters. This throw not only solidified his position at the top of the leaderboard but also set a new Paralympic record, further cementing his status as a dominant force in the sport.

The 26-year-old athlete’s remarkable achievement underscores India’s growing prowess in para-athletics on the global stage. Antil’s record-breaking performance has inspired countless fans and brought pride to his nation, marking a significant moment in the history of the Paralympic Games.

As the competition came to a close, Sumit Antil stood tall as a two-time Paralympic champion, with the world watching in awe at his extraordinary talent and determination.
