Sujata Karthikeyan Appointed Secretary of Finance Dept, Shalini Pandit of Mission Shakti

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State government has transferred Sujata Rout Karthikeyan from her position as Commissioner cum Secretary of the Mission Shakti Department to the role of Special Secretary in the Finance Department. The decision was announced today, marking a notable shift in the bureaucratic landscape of the state.

Alongside her transfer from the Mission Shakti Department, Sujata Rout Karthikeyan has also been relieved of her duties as Commissioner cum Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department. This move comes amidst recent developments following a petition filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing Karthikeyan of misusing her government position.

Shalini Pandit, the current Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. Pandit will now assume the roles of Commissioner cum Secretary of the Mission Shakti Department and Commissioner cum Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department.

A notification issued by the General Administration department stated, “The additional appointment of Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, IAS as Commissioner cum Secretary to Government, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department shall stand terminated from the date Shalini Pandit, IAS takes over.”
