Subhadra Shakti Mela to Celebrate Women Entrepreneurship and Culture from November 1

Bhubaneswar: The Mission Shakti Department has announced the launch of the Odisha Women Entrepreneurs and Cultural Heritage Fair — ‘Subhadra Shakti Mela’, set to commence on November 1 at the Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar. The event will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, marking the beginning of a vibrant showcase of women-led enterprises, traditional crafts, and cultural heritage.

Addressing a press conference at Mission Shakti Bhawan, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared details of the upcoming event. This year’s fair will feature 300 stalls, including 50 food stalls, exhibiting a wide range of products crafted by self-help group (SHG) members from across the State. Women who excelled in the Subhadra Shakti Traditional Food Competition will also participate, presenting authentic Odia delicacies to visitors.

Adding a national dimension, women entrepreneurs from 11 states will take part in the mela, displaying and selling their unique regional products, making it a national-level platform for women-led enterprises.

In addition to exhibitions and sales, the mela will also host a fashion show to promote Odisha’s handloom and textile crafts, along with forest products and traditional cuisine, blending entrepreneurship with the State’s rich cultural identity.

The Subhadra Shakti Mela aims to empower women entrepreneurs, foster cross-cultural exchange, and celebrate the creativity and resilience of women who are shaping Odisha’s social and economic landscape.
