SpiceJet to Reinstate Direct Flights Connecting Jabalpur to Delhi and Mumbai

New Delhi: In a significant move to enhance air connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, SpiceJet is set to restart direct flights between Delhi and Jabalpur, as well as Mumbai and Jabalpur. The service, which is scheduled to commence from next month, aims to provide convenient travel options for passengers in the region.

The direct flight from Delhi to Jabalpur is slated to commence operations on March 1, 2024, with the service operating two days a week. Similarly, the flight service connecting Mumbai to Jabalpur is set to start from March 2, 2024. SpiceJet, a prominent player in the aviation sector, will operate these flights, contributing to the expansion of air services in Madhya Pradesh.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia expressed his delight at the announcement, stating, “I am delighted that with the support of SpiceJet, Jabalpur will get additional connectivity to Mumbai and Delhi.” He emphasized that the increased connectivity would not only offer a convenient and time-saving travel experience for the people of Jabalpur but also boost trade, commerce, and employment opportunities in the region.

Highlighting the infrastructural developments, Minister Scindia mentioned that Jabalpur Airport is set to receive a new Terminal Building, being constructed at a cost of Rs. 412 crore. The new terminal is expected to provide a significant boost to travel and economic growth in the region.

The reintroduction of these direct flight services aligns with the government’s efforts to enhance air connectivity and promote regional development. SpiceJet’s collaboration in this initiative is expected to contribute positively to the accessibility and economic prospects of Jabalpur and its surrounding areas.
