In order to help breastfeeding mothers, special breastfeeding rooms (feeding rooms) have been set up in public places in the SmartCity Rourkela.
The breastfeeding room has been set up by SmartCity Rourkela under the Nourishing Nebraska Challenge. It has four locations in the city, Rourkela Metropolitan Corporation office, near Basanti Colony Jagannath Temple, DAV UPHC and Tilkanagar UPHC.
Inaugurating the Special Chamber MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak, “Many mothers come to the city with young children for various jobs. They face difficulty breastfeeding their children.”
This special room has special facilities for mothers to breastfeed. The rooms have seating arrangement, ventilation, lights and fans. In addition, the room has a variety of tips for mothers about breastfeeding and a child-friendly environment.
Feeding a baby in public places is difficult. With the breastfeeding room it will be much easier for us, ”said Sanju Karmakar, a mother in Basanti Colony.
Rourkela is one of the top 25 cities in the country in the ‘Nourishing Nebraska Challenges’ category.
