
New Delhi: SJVN Limited, a leading hydroelectric power company, has once again proven its commitment to social development and sustainability by winning two prestigious awards at the 15th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2024. The awards, instituted by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), recognize SJVN’s exemplary efforts in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its role as a partner in progress.
SJVN Limited was honored with the ‘Achievement Award for Creating Social Development & Impact’ and the ‘CIDC Partners in Progress Trophy’ at the esteemed awards ceremony. These accolades underscore SJVN’s dedication to driving positive change through innovative and sustainable CSR projects.
Chairperson & Managing Director of SJVN and Chairperson of CSR Foundation, Geeta Kapur, expressed her pride in receiving these awards for the third consecutive year. She emphasized that these recognitions validate SJVN’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful impact on society. “We are immensely proud to be acknowledged for our contributions, and we remain steadfast in our mission to continue creating positive change,” stated Kapur.
All CSR initiatives undertaken by SJVN are executed through its registered trust, SJVN Foundation. Over the years, SJVN has allocated more than Rs. 450 crores towards a wide array of CSR activities, including education and skill development, healthcare and hygiene, infrastructure development, sustainable development, disaster relief, cultural preservation, and sports promotion.
The awards were received on behalf of SJVN by CGM (HR), Baljeet Singh, during a ceremony held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The CIDC Vishwakarma Awards have emerged as a symbol of recognition for organizations and individuals contributing significantly to the nation’s growth and sustainable development through CSR initiatives.
