
Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has lodged a complaint against a sevayat for allegedly using a mobile phone on the chariot during the Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri. The complaint was filed at the Singhadwar police station in Puri town.
Photographs of the sevayat using the phone on Dwarpadalana, the chariot of Maa Subhadra, were published in newspapers, prompting the SJTA to take legal action.
In addition to this incident, the SJTA has received complaints about other sevayats using mobile phones on the chariots. The temple administration has stated that it will approach the police for necessary action against these individuals.
The SJTA has banned sevayats from carrying mobile phones to the chariots of the deities. Unauthorized persons are also prohibited from accessing the chariots, according to the temple administration.
