SJTA bans mobile phones in Jagannath temple premises

Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to ban mobile phones in the premises of Jagannath temple from January 1, 2023.

As per the new rules, violators will face stringent punishment.

The fresh rule will apply to everyone including policemen, servitors and employees of the shrine.

Persons entering the 12th-Century shrine shall have to leave their mobile phones outside the temple premises. Special arrangements will be made for the safe custody of mobile phones at Singhadwar and Dakshina Dwar,  informed SJTA Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav.
