Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will reopen for devotees from February 1. Puri Collector Samarth Verma informed this after a meeting of the Chhatisa Nijoga through video conferencing.
The temple will remain closed on Sundays for sanitisation purpose due to the COVID-19 situation. Verification of vaccination and RTPCR will be strictly followed.
Local people of Puri can enter the temple through the west gate, while people from outside Puri can enter from the east gate or Singhdwar, informed the Collector.
After the surge in Covid cases, the temple was closed for the visitors from January 10 till January 31. However, all the daily rituals of the temple continued.
