‘Shakti Awards’ to 50 inspiring women entrepreneurs of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Women entrepreneurs are setting a trend and generating employment opportunities for many. Recognising their achievements and empowering the female leadership to economic growth, 50 women entrepreneurs from Odisha were conferred with Shakti Awards on Thursday.

Minister of Industries and MSME Pratap Keshari Deb on Thursday conferred the award to 25 women entrepreneurs and 25 micro entrepreneurs of the State in an event held at the Convention Centre of Lokseva Bhavan.

Women from grassroots level, including women with disabilities running their industries were awarded for their achievement.

The event was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)’s Indian Women Network (IWN) in partnership with MSME Department, Startup Odisha and Mission Shakti.

Appreciating the programme ‘Shakti Ru Samrudhhi’ for recognising the State women entrepreneurs making a difference,  he stated these woman achievers are no less than any other.

Speaking on women breaking barriers, Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sulochana Das said the women are playing a key role in economic growth of the country.
