New Delhi:  To strengthen regional cooperation, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) V. Srinivas held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Indra Mani Pandey, Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). The discussion centered on the collaboration between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and BIMSTEC countries for conducting capacity-building programs focused on public policy and governance.

The BIMSTEC, comprising India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, represents a group of nations with shared interests and challenges in governance. The NCGG has been actively conducting country-specific capacity-building programs for Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, recognizing that the challenges of governance are common across these nations.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of these programs as platforms for sharing experiences and documenting best practices. The talks were described as cordial and conducive, reflecting a mutual commitment to learning from one another and enhancing governance across the BIMSTEC region.

This collaboration underscores the ongoing efforts to foster regional cooperation and capacity building, further solidifying the ties between BIMSTEC member countries in the areas of public policy and governance.
